Many times parents do not know how they should proceed in order to help their child who is struggling in school.  These circumstances/situations may be helped by conferring with professionals at Helping Minds Behavioral Health.  The professional can offer suggestions for interventions that may include a reduction in the child’s work load at school, the addition of a tutor or task master for the student, an evaluation to determine the cause of the problem, and/or counseling or therapy for the student and/or their family therapy.  Often students who have ADD or ADHD do not need traditional therapy or counseling; however, they may greatly benefit from a coach who is able to help them set short- and long-term goals, identify what they need to do to accomplish their goals, brainstorm problems and solutions to these problems, understand their  “cognitive” profile, and own their strengths and weaknesses.
